‘Amar Mazdoor’ is a public art installation. The installation was created by fashion designer Tushar Bhartiya, along with migrant workers from the garment industry in Gurgaon, India. They decided to call it ‘Amar Mazdoor’ – which means ‘Immortal Worker’. It is a reminder that, for many consumers and suppliers, the ‘Mazdoor’ is little more than a machine – dispensable, and often not even given humane treatment.
